Trees serve a very important role in rainwater harvesting. As such, they should not be ignored lightly. They should be accorded all the respect which they rightfully deserve. Trees are an important component in any suitable human habitation. This is why people living in deserts and other arid lands have to spend millions of dollars every day to ensure that they get amenities that are freely available in other areas that have sufficient tree cover. An example of this happens to be water. Deserts have little water lying around. There are simply no natural structures put in place to store water. This is because there are no trees in the area. As such, they have to dig and lay pipes to oceans and other water bodies lying close to them in order to get the water that they need to survive. They also need to purify this water as it is salty. All these problems are avoided by those living in forested areas because trees act as natural reservoirs of water.
